When you write in, it helps to include your device model, OS version, and the app version (Settings → About). KeyVault stores nothing on our end, so we can only go on what you tell us.

Common questions

I forgot my password / PIN. Can you reset it?

No — and that's by design. KeyVault never sends your password or PIN anywhere, and we never see them. There is no "forgot password" recovery, because there is no server holding your vault. If you've lost your credential and don't have an encrypted .kv backup with its own password, the vault cannot be unlocked. Keep a backup and store its password somewhere safe.

How do I move my vault to a new phone?

KeyVault doesn't sync between devices. Export an encrypted .kv backup from Settings on your old phone, transfer the file, install KeyVault on the new phone, and import the backup using its backup password.

Is Identify Mode guaranteed to find the right key?

Identify Mode is a similarity hint based on on-device image fingerprinting — it ranks the closest matches in your vault. Always verify a key visually before cutting a copy.

Where is my data stored?

Only on your device, encrypted with AES-256-GCM. There is no cloud, no account, and no analytics. See the Privacy Policy for the full picture.

How do I delete everything?

Uninstalling KeyVault removes the entire encrypted vault from your device. There is no remote copy to erase.
